NSCDC arrests man for vandalizing electrical Installations in Ondo

 Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command have arrested the head of a notorious criminal syndicate for vandalizing electrical Installations and Transformer in Ipesi Community, Akoko South East Local Government Area of the state. 


While parading the Suspect at the command's  Headquarters, Alagbaka Akure, the state Commandant of NSCDC, Eweka Edenabu said that a four-man gang  has  been holding Ipesi Community to ransom by vandalizing their transformer.


He said the activities of the gang has put  the community in total blackout.  


Eweka said the arrest was made possible through credible intelligence gathering by  his o fficers and men deployed to the area in collaboration with other sister agencies. 

He added  that the suspect, Owolabi Taiwo, aged 27years was arrested with a huge electrical armoured cable and some tools being used to perpetrate the evil act.


According to him, efforts are in top gear to apprehend the three other suspects who are currently at large. 


The suspect, according to a statement issued by the command's spokesperson, Olufemi Omole will be charged to court for offences which contravenes Section 3 of the  Miscellaneous Offences Act, LFN 1990. 


The Commandant said, "As a  Security Agency saddled with the mandate of Safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, NSCDC Ondo State Command will undauntedly continue  to discharge its Statutory responsibilities at all times"


He also issued a stern warning to all criminally  minded persons in the state to either relocate or face the full wrath of the law.
