The state executive committee meeting of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has ended in crisis in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Some aggrieved members of the union marched to the venue of the meeting with placards in their hands over payment of 50 percent salary to them by the state government
They claimed that their leaders have compromised hence they stressed the need for their leaders to direct members to go on strike.
This is coming one week after doctors under the auspices of Ondo Government Doctors Forum (OGDF) began an indefinite strike action.
The aggrieved nurses chased out labour leaders who were at the meeting to mediate in the crisis rocking the union.
The aggrieved nurses also expressed their readiness to pull out of the Joint Health Workers Union
They said they cannot continue to work on empty stomach until all their allowances are paid.
