Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State says his administration will continue to create the right environment to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises MSMEs to be viable partners in the growth of the state's economy.

Akeredolu dropped the hint at the official launch of the Ondo state edition of the Micro, small and Medium Enterprises MSMEs Clinic attended by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in Akure.

He said the programme further underscored the determination of the federal government to drive the country's economy towards self-reliance, using the platform as a delivery tool for development.

"This programme anticipates lifting the generality of our people from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment.

"Launched early last year by the Vice President, this programme aims at creating a platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to thrive by providing opportunity for them to interact with relevant federal agencies and in the process, obtain practical and on-the-spot solutions to their business challenges," he said.

He noted that the project will help proffer solutions to the myriads of challenges faced by small scale and medium enterprises as well as help reposition their business for the growth of the economy.

The governor expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari  for making ondo state  the 14th beneficiary of the programme which has been held in the 6 geo political zones.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Public and Intergovernmental Relations, Mrs Bunmi Ademosu also lauded the federal government for bringing the programme to Ondo state.

She appealed to small and medium scale enterprises in the state to take maximum advantage of this opportunity at their doorstep.
