Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has directed officials of the Ondo State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to fix all buildings affected at the Mother and Child Hospital, Oke Aro, Akure, by yesterday's downpour
The Governor gave the order after moving round the medical facility along with officials of the Ministry of Health and Works to ascertain the level of damage done by the rainstorm.
Akeredolu expressed concern about the incident and assured of his readiness to immediately fix it.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro while briefing newsmen on the cause of the incident explained that the storm affected part of the roof and some of the hospital's equipments and expressed joy that not life was lost.
He thanked the governor for his immediate response and approval to ensure all buildings affected are urgently repaired.
Also, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Rahimi Aminu stressed that officials from the ministry will soon visit the hospital for immediate repair and reconstruction works.
