DROMI reach out to small business owners, hawkers and indigents in Ondo

Dr. Rhoda Makinde Intiative (DROMI) is a non-governmental organization poised to support women in various aspect and see them reach their potentials. The initiative believes "women empowerment is the answer" to a stable family structure. DROMI recently held a mini-awareness rally in Ondo city. The awareness rally afforded the opportunity to engage women on the need for a stable income, strong stance against all forms of gender discrimination and oppression. 

The Initiative also used the medium to give cash seeds to small business owners, street hawkers and female indigents in the society totaling about 65 persons. This gesture is in line with the Initiative's belief that financial freedom is of utmost importance to the growth of every woman in the society.

One of the beneficiary of this kind gesture Mrs Funmi Ajayi who could not hold her joy, uncontrollably expressed that the cash seed would help her extend her business, hence enable her pay her children's school fees on time.

The spokesperson of the Initiative, Bolaji Omotayo, while addressing newsmen during the awareness rally noted that the role of women can never be overemphasized in the society and added that the initiator Dr. Rhoda Makinde is passionate about the development of the women folks in the society.

The train kicked started the awareness at the popular Yaba Road, through the Moferere Market to the Osemawe's Palace, before it moved to the Sabo Market along Canon Adeyemi Road, Ife garage, Akure garage and ended the awareness at the Agbogbo Oke Market
