Bode Obanla, coordinator of Ondo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party Support Group (PDPSG) has warned Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), governor of Ondo State, against the planned conduct of local government election in the state.
He advised the governor to respect the court and remain a minister in the temple of justice by suspending all actions prejudice to the ongoing case at the Akure Appeal court in respect of the local government councils he dissolved last year.
SUNSHINE HERALD recalled that Mr. Akeredolu had in a release on Tuesday signed by his chief press secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye approved the constitution of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
According to the governor, the newly constituted commission is expected to be headed by Prof Yomi Dinakin.
But Obanla in a statement in Akure on Wednesday expressed surprise at repeated disrespectful attitudes of state governor to the court and the profession that gave him a lift and means in life.
He alluded to the illegal manner with which he purportedly dissolved the local government councils in the state last year and his open contempt for the court processes by his renewed efforts at circumventing a matter pending in court over the setting up a machinery leading to the conduct of another council election, despite the pendency.
He further advised Mr. Akeredolu to reverse himself, warned that the Group shall deploy all known legitimate means to making him respect the laws of the land, should he fail to heed to this call.
