The wife of Ondo State governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has charged the newly appointed Aides to justify the reelection of the governor by being diligent to service, saying that second term is not a holiday.

Addressing the new and the returned Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, including the Staff of the Office of the First Lady, during 'Meet Your Principal' meeting held at the Rotunda Government house Alagbaka today, she noted that their appointment and reappointment was a call to service and a reward of hardworking, diligence and loyalty.

According to her, contrary to the usual impression that second term in office is for relaxation and enjoyment, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN was committed to leaving a legacy and would make his reelection a departure from usual system of government by continuing to work for the good people of Ondo State.

Congratulating them, Her Excellency charged them to get ready to move at her pace, saying she's not the First Lady that would be sleeping, and assured them of having a jolly second term with her.

Arabinrin Akeredolu also admonished the Corps members attached to her office to maximize the service year to distinguish themselves.

Her words: " Although, it came as a surprise to some of you, probably all of you. You didn't fall from the sky; you must have had some level of relationship with this government, we must have found you worthy, effective or hardworking enough to be newly appointed. So, I congratulate you.

"What it means is that whatever you do, you might be thinking that nobody is watching but somebody is watching and taking note. Diligence pays, hardworking pays, loyalty pays", she said.

Some of the appointees in their comments described the wife of the governor as a good mother who gave them tutelage and conducive environment to operate and explore their potentials.

They described her as a promoter of destinies, woman of substance who gave them hope and encouragement.

The appointees, therefore, used the medium to plegde their total loyalty in their respective offices, and prayed for her, His Excellency and their household.
