Ondo workers to participate in nationwide protest tomorrow

Labour  leaders in Ondo state will converged on Akure on Wednesday to protest against the removal of minimum wage from an exclusive legislative list in the nation's constitution..


According to a statement issued by the Ondo state Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Omokehinde Shado, the protest would hold at seven O'clock in morning at the Reuben  Fasoranti Park. Alagbaka

The NLC Secretary urged leadership of affiliate unions to mobilise selected members for the protest against the move by the national assembly.


The statement reads, "Comrades, as you are all aware that, the political class are at it again. The latest of their enslavement strategy is to leave us at the mercy of the federating units of our federation.This no doubt, will bring to the workers an untold hardship which we don't pray for; not at this time.The removal of the Minimum wage as an item contained in the Exclusive legislative list to the concurrent list is not only treacherous and anti workers but, satanic.


"To this end, we have received a national directive just like every other State in the nation to hold simultaneously, a PROTEST ACTION against this sinister plan tomorrow 10th March, 2021"
