A Member of the Ondo State House of Assembly Representing Akure South Constituency 1, Hon Simeon Toluwani Borokini has commended Governor, Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu for paying the School Certificate Examination (WAEC)fees for students in public schools in the state.
Borokini, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, described the intervention as timely and thoughtful.
According to him, this gesture from the governor will help ease the financial burden on parents and also boost the morale of the benefitting students towards education.
The lawmaker implored the Principals to take immediate steps in refunding the registration fees collected so far to the parents/wards of the affected students as directed by the Governor.
The lawmaker in a statement issued by his media aide, Ayobamiji Komolafe, encouraged the students to make judicious use of this opportunity and ensure the state ranks amongst the best when results will be released.
This, he noted, will be the best compensation for the governor's kind gesture.
