Friday 15 May, 2020, the Coalition 2020 extends her humanitarian gesture towards the vulnerables in the society as part of her efforts to cushion the effect of the lockdown occasioned by the novel Coronavirus pandemic that has humbled humanity in a time like this and crippled the world economy including Nigeria.
COALITION 2020, a conglomeration of 35 different political parties, interest groups and concern individuals with a focus to enthrone government leadership that will espouse good goverance and inclusive society for the good people of Ondo State.
Since the Coalition 2020, understand that politics without humanity is zero, this however sprang the mood of the Coalition to visit 3 different centers for her humanitarian reach-out to distribute materials worth thousands of naira. The materials donated includes; rice, noddles, spaghetti, Eggs, bar soaps, parks of detergents, parks of Jik, Sanitary pads, Bampas,Milk, Milo among other things.
The visit started with the Children Ward of the Ondo State University Teaching Hospital UNIMED, Akure, followed by Ondo State Children Homes, Akure and Ago Ireti Camp in Oba-Ile, Akure North.
The distributions were made by the leadership of the coalition among which are Prince Solagbade Amodeni a former Commissioner, Hon. Bamiduro Dada Chairman of the Coalition and former Comm.for Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ade Adeniyi, Hon. Bimbo Fajolu, Hon. Akin Akinbobola, Secretary of the Coalition, Comdr. Bosede Daramola Chairperson of the Sub-committee on Strategy who doubles as the Chairperson of the palliative distribution committee, Chairmen of some of the political parties , and other members of the coalition.
Prince Solagbade Amodeni who led the Coalition acknowledged the critical condition will all find ourselves in Nigeria particularly in Ondo State as a result of CoviD-19 pandemic that is ravaging the world, hence the need to combine humanity with politics and extends hands of kindness as government alone can't shoulder the responsibilities of palliative distribution. He further stated that we should all combine efforts to fight the scourge of CoviD-19 pandemic by following professional health rules and precautionary measures that will help us win the war against the deadly virus.
While, Thanking the leadership and members of the group, the Head of Department of the Ondo State Teaching Hospital, Children Ward, Akure, Nurse Akinbobola, thanked the coalition for such a wonderful act of kindness in a time like this. Saying it is commendable for a political group to have done. Also appreciating the group, one of the officials at the Ondo State Children Home,Oba Ile, commended the effort of the coalition for putting smile on the faces of the less privilege. Also one of the students at the home thanked and appreciated the team for reaching out to them. This to us is golden.
In his words the head of Ago Ireti Camp, Oba-Ile, express his appreciation to the visiting team, for remembering them in a moment like this. Saying "this gesture will go a long way in bringing succour to us". He also said only God who can reward the team for this kind of humanitarian service".
They also used the moment to requested the help of the Coalition to remind and appeal to the government of the day led by Akarakunri Rotimi Akeredolu, their monthly stipends of #10,000 that has not been paid since January, 2020 till date, saying it has affected their livelihood as they can no longer cater for their families. He said.
