Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in Ondo State have intercepted a bus conveying 88 gallons of 30 litres each, containing Automotive Gas Oil, popularly known as diesel, in Ore area of the state.
One Babalola Shola, aged 37 was arrested with the intercepted gallons enroute Ondo- Ore- Odigbo Road In a Mazda Bus without a number plate.
While parading the suspect, the state commandant of NSCDC,Eweka Edenabu Okorosaid the arrest was made by the anti vandal Squad of the Command.
According to a statement issued by the command's spokesperson, Olufemi Omole, the driver of the vehicle is still at large.
The commandant said the command will continue to work to safeguard all critical and National Assets
He added that the suspect will be charged to court to serve as a deterrent to others.
The statement added, 'The operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps arrested one Babalola Shola aged 37 years residing at No 23 Freewealth Street, Orita-ojo Ore, Ondo State.
"The Suspect and his driver were were moving along Ondo- Ore- Odigbo Road In a Mazda Bus without a number plate. The Bus was conveying 88 Galons of 30 litres each of Automotive Gas Oil(AGO) -Diesel.
"Although the driver is still at large, the Command will continue to work relentlessly in its commitment to the mandate of safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure as well as Anti-vandalism"
