The spirit of #EndSARS Protest that started few days ago in some parts of the country, has
landed in the North Senatorial District of Ondo State, where concerned youths in Akungba Akoko today took to the streets in their numbers, demanding an end to police brutality.
It was learnt that the protesters went to the Palace of Alale of Akungba to express their displeasure about the precarious situation.
While confirming the visit by the protesters, the paramount ruler of the University community, Oba Isaac Adeyeye, Ajimo III, stated that he placated the agitating youths, assuring them that arrangement are in top gear as the government is finding a lasting solution to police nefarious activities.
Meanwhile, residents of Ikare Akoko, the nerve centre of Akokoland, trooped out on Thursday, October 15, to join the #ENDSARS protest.
The youths with placards and banners with various inscriptions such as "Enough is enough", "stop Police Brutality " , " "Stop killing our future leaders", moved round the town in a peaceful protest.
In an interview, a resident , Mr Abiodun Mohammed expressed support for the reasons behind the demonstration but appealed to the youths to embrace dialogue and allow the government to implement some of the #ENDSARS demands that had been approved by the President.
