This concept popularly known as Legitimacy in governance came to play today as the campaign train of the Arakunrin Akeredolu Oluwarotimi SAN made a stop in Irele Local Government.
This was the case with the incumbent Governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN as he was treated to a royal welcome by the people of Irele Kingdom
Speaking at the palace of the Ahaba of Ajagba Kingdom, Oba Thomas Oluwole Adesayo praised Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his intentional and giants strides in the State which are all geared towards advancing the State among its peers.
According to the Monarch,"We believe in your capacity to bring about better governance in the state, we have so many candidates however you have being tested and we have found you worthy"
The Monarch also requested from Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to ensure that he never relent in his drive to reposition the state, he also added that the Governor has done impressively well in the Local Government regarding road construction however there's a need to do more.
Business mogul and philanthropist, Jimoh Ibrahim confidently reaffirmed his full conviction that the victory of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is non negotiable adding that the Governor has done well and his victory is inevitable also empathizing on the words of Jimoh Ibrahim, Chief Olusola Oke stated that there's no doubt about the victory of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as it's already secured in Irele. He added that the people of the southern senatorial district has agreed that Arakunrin Akeredolu should continue for the next four years in the State.
Also Jimi Odimayo in his words reassured the Governor of his full support while adding that the people of Irele Local Government are solidly behind him and come October 2020 victory will be his.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN in his response thanked the Monarch and all present for their solid support over the years, explaining that his Government has enjoyed the full cooperation of the people of Irele Local Government. He explained that his led administration is currently working towards ensuring that more benefits of democracy is enjoyed in the State.
This he also re-echoed at the Campaign Rally where he stated that there's more to be done in the Local Government. The governor added that Irele is blessed with Bitumen and his administration will ensure the full exploitation of this natural resources.
He enjoined all present to return back to their units and canvass massively for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the fourth Coming Gubernatorial election in the State.
The Party also witnessed the decamping of bigwigs from several opposition parties, Barrister Remi Olatubora led decampees from the People Democratic Party while the women leader of the Zenith Labor Party led other decampees from the ZLP into the fold of the All Progressive Congress. There were also new members from the SDP.
On the entourage of the Governor was his running mate, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Director-General of the campaign, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Chief Olusola Oke, Jimi Odimayo, Chief Jimoh Ibrahim and many others
