Now it is clear that the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon Agboola Ajayi will be contesting in the October 10, 2020 governorship election as the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

Therefore, there are indications that Agboola may consider three personalities as his running mate in the October 10 polls.

Triangle Magazine looks at the three personalities who are likely to be picked as Agboola's running mate.

Gboye Adegbenro – 50 years old: Engineer Gboye Adegbenro is a former Commissioner of Works under the administration of Dr Olusegun Mimiko. He is from Ifedore in Ondo Central and is believed to be a good candidate to be Agboola's runningmate.

Olasimi Odunmbaku – 54years old: Olasimi from Akoko in Ondo North is a former Commissioner for Women Affairs under ex-Governor Olusegun Mimiko. She was the ZLP Senatorial candidate for Ondo North in 2019. Women are thirsty for a female Deputy. Add seasoned politician who did very well on Women Affairs.

Abdulsalam Taofiq Olawale – 51 years old: Abdulsalam is a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Commissioner for Works. He is from Ilepa in Ikare-Akoko, Ondo North. Ilepa is the only community in Ondo state with two wards in a local government.

Many believe as a Muslim, if he is selected he will boost the chances of the ZLP since APC and PDP have settled for Christian runningmates.
