An agent of change is someone who sees a problem in their community, large or small, and does something to take action for substantial change. This person is someone who listens to the people in the community where the issue exists and makes sure that they truly understand the root of the problem before implementing a new idea.
This person is someone who is willing to take risks and doesn't always claim to know the answer. They are willing to ask hard questions and help find creative solutions. An agent of change has the courage to think outside the box and makes an impact that is greater than him.
"An agent of change believes that continuous improvement is required for lasting, meaningful impact and recognizes that complacency is the enemy of progress. He/she faces the toughest of challenges with determination, zeal, openness, and commitment to ensure that the future is filled with opportunity and promise for everyone."BRIANNA TERRELL, 2017 EP Fellow
"An agent of change is a transformational leader working tirelessly to make bold ideas a reality in order to create a more equitable, effective educational system. Regardless of their background or job profession, these trailblazers are making an impact to improve the lives of students across the region and beyond." EMMA LOFGREN, 2018 EP Fellow
"An agent of change is someone who is willing to stand in the gap, spark tough conversations, and encourage their network to improve our system for the greater good. These galvanizing leaders empower their peers, stakeholders and partners to join the coalition that moves the needle toward equitable change from neighborhood to city to state."RASHIDA KIMBRUE, 2015 EP Fellow
Symbols are central features of organized human life, helping to define perception, shaping the way we view the world and understand what goes on within it. While most apparent in some formal spheres of activity, like organized religion or the emblems of statehood (flags, hymns, escutcheons), they are actually present in all walks of life including politics.
Symbols are manifestations of the deeply felt human need to order what Henry James called "the blooming, buzzing confusion" of experience and endow this order with meaning.
Khepera or Khepri: in ancient Egypt , khepri is the scarab beetle who pushes the solar orb above the horizon at dawn. The scarab represents the morning sun and is closely associated with creation and resurrection.
He serves planet Earth as a loyal guardian and spinner of cycles, bringing forth necessary changes that allow creation to keep moving forward.
-the Birch Tree is also a symbol of new beginnings in celtic symbolism:
The birch is highly adaptive and able to sustain harsh conditions with casual indifference. Proof of this adaptability is seen in its easy and eager ability to repopulate areas damaged by forest fires or clearings. The birch is a pioneer, taking root and starting anew to revive the landscape where no other would before. This is a powerful metaphor for renewal
-As Dove represent tranquil state of mind so also AKETI's regime has brought about peace, tranquility and Conducive atmosphere where developmental projects are striving in the State.
As butterfly is used in both myth and Art, butterflies signify transformation so also the regime of Akeredolu in the State. Every part of the state are not left out in the transformation agenda of the Governor.
Crosses symbolizes spirituality and healing ,thus Aketi administration has healed our wound via his prompt salaries payment, workers promotion and other welfare packages, pensions in spite of the meager federal allocation. Backlog of salaries, poor working conditions, poor infrastructures were some of our usual emotional and economical wounds in the past.
Aketi symbolize water in the state, Water is for survival, water represents births, fertility and cleansing, today in Ondo State, Aketi has provided survival for our economy, physical water for drinking and for cleansing.
Aketi is an Owl which has created a virtual story and exhibits character intelligence. He has become a trailblazer in the process and his strong determination to industrialize the State, of recent is the Linyil industry which has created over 2,000 personnel following its inauguration by President Muhamad Buhari early this year. This single idea would definitely help to improve and boost our internal revenue within the next one year and increase the nation's GDP.
He has chosen not to wage war against his numerous friends who have all turned to be his enemies in their bid to supplant him. There are no records of political witch-hunt in the state as it is happening in the neighboring State who is also preparing for a Guber poll. Meanwhile, the highest breach of trust was committed by his Deputy Governor whom He (Aketi) trusted very well and later betrayed him and off course the Secretary for State Government.
Aketi has proved to be a Rose in the political arena of the State. He associates with everyone with love and romance both his friends and his adversaries. This remains uncommon trait in any political community in the present day politics.
Governor Akeredolu is a fire in combating crimes in the state, a raging fire which consumes any threat to the lives of his citizens. He was the fierce furnace which consumed the herdsmen kidnapping activities in the early weeks of 2019. The kidnappers were failed in their attempt to turn our forest into their domain for illicit businesses. I can remember the Governor waged a serious war against them and today the State is enjoying the most peaceful atmosphere above every other States of the region and subsequently He stood his ground despite the dissatisfaction of the Northern ruling class to formed Amotekun in the whole region of Yoruba without recourse to his second term ambition.
Aketi is an arrow which symbolizes and represents direction, ambition, speed and desire for progress. He wasn't being deterred by the campaign of calumny by the members of opposition parties, and all manners of lies as being peddled by some enemy of progress.
And conclusively, Our Governor is a man of large heart which represents valor, loyalty and kindness. He never stops loving his people, He never stops his good legacies that He is laying across the state, He never stops his unflinching loyalty to his party, the State and the nation at large in spite of attacks here and there. Governor Akeredolu is a patriotic Nigerian.
However, the Governor through the combination of being an agent and symbol has touched virtually all sectors of the economy and He has raised the bar for good governance across the 18 local governments.
He therefore deserved to be re-elected for the second term based on his performance since no one has accused him of poor performance. His creativity, professionalism, prudency, accountability and transparency are the major reasons everyone is interested to unseat him. His traducers are being astonished how possible a governor could be doing all these major projects having know that the federal allocation has be dwindled down, what a magic wand governor?
Kudos to Mr Governor, 4+4 is guaranteed.
