WINNERS EMERGE IN ONDO NUJ PRESS WEEK TOURNAMENT

Champions have emerged winner at the recently concluded indoor games organised to commemorate the special press week event of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ, Ondo State Chapter.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the sporting activities organised for the week include; Table Tennis, Ayo Olopon and Ludo.
In the Table Tennis event, Babatope Okeowo of the Daily Telegraph emerged champion after defeating Ebenezer Adeniyan of Trace Magazine in a fiercely contested match, coming from 1-0 down to win 2-1.
Okeowo earlier defeated Ayodeji Moradeyo of the Television Continental (TVC) in the semifinals, while Ebenezer  Adeniyan defeated Olumide Odeyemi of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Akure respectively to quality for the finals.
In the Ayo event, Oluwaseun Akingboye of the Guardian newspaper emerged champion after walking over Oluwaferanmi Odofin of the FRCN in the finals.
Leke Adegbite of FRCN also walked over Taiwo Abiodun of the Africa Independent Competition (AIT) to emerge third.
In his remarks, NUJ Chairman, James Sowole who hailed all the participants as worthy winners admonished journalists in the state to see sports as an avenue to while away time.
Sowole further called on members to unite for the progress of the union.
NAN reports that prizes will be presented to winners in the game at the dinner and award night later today.
