The crisis in the Ondo state All Progressives Congress, APC took a new dimension Saturday, when thugs attacked members of the party who were holding a parallel state congress at BTO Hall in Akure.
SUNSHINE HERALD had earlier reported that two state congresses will be held today, as members failed to agree on which of the parallel ward and local government congresses was the authentic one.
A source who spoke with our reporter said things were going on smooth until suspected thugs invaded the venue with dangerous materials, chasing away party members.
Among those who were said to be injured in the clash include a candidate for the post of publicity secretary, Leye Akinola who sustained machete wounds.
Some of those injured in the clash have been rushed to the hospital.
