Aliyu Muhammad Sani Kaugama, a young candidate from Jigawa State has so far emerged the best candidate in the ongoing 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Kaugama, who finished his secondary school education from the Academy for the Gifted and Talented Bamaina School in Jigawa, reportedly scored 311.
Mansur Ahmed, a media aide to the former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, shared the story of Kaugama's academic feat on Facebook in Hausa language.
This is the English translation of what Mansur wrote: "The candidate who got the highest JAMB scores comes from Jigawa. Aliyu Muhammad Sani Kaugama is the candidate with the highest JAMB scores so far this year. The brilliant student of Academy for the gifted and talented Bamaina school scored 311 in the matriculation exams that was sat last week.
"There have been calls lately to the Governor Jigawa State Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to sponsor this young brilliant guy to study abroad so as to reach his maximum potential."
The 2018 UTME will end this Saturday, March 17.
