ODSG set to open rural roads

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has reassured on his administration's readiness to open-up rural communities under the Rural Road Accessibility Project Scheme, (RAMP).

He made this known at Okeagbe in Akoko North West Local Government Area, at the installation ceremony of Otunba Solomon Oladunni as the Asiwaju of Okeagbe Akoko at the weekend.

The Governor who described Okeagbe as a town that has produced great personalities that are doing the state proud, used the opportunity to congratulate the latest high chief for the new accomplishment.

Arakunrin Akeredolu while stressing that those in the hinterland have been neglected for so long assured residents of the town that his administration will do all he can to positively make their roads accessible for agricultural activities to thrive in the state.

The governor further stated that other major roads, not only in Okeagbe, but in other cities and towns will  be attended to as soon as funds are available, but was quick to add that many of these roads are owned by the Federal Government.

Arakunrin Akeredolu maintained that each Local Government Area in the state should have its General Hospital and as such the governor promised to work with the support of the people to attain the development.

Speaking earlier at the event, the Owage of  Okeagbe, Oba Alex Jimoh, thanked the governor for taking his time to attend the programme and commended him for the lofty programmes he has put in place since he assumed office.

The monarch also used the opportunity to appeal to the governor to help attend to the bad state of roads leading to the town which have paralyzed economic activities of the area.

Also speaking, the new High Chief, Asiwaju Solomon Oladunni appreciated the governor ,the traditional rulers in Okeagbe and the people for bestowing on to him the traditional title.

While expressing optimism that the State Government under Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, would address some of the challenges facing the town; Asiwaju Oladunni assured of his readiness to continue to do all within his capacity to support the town.
