Secondary school students across Ondo state gathered for the 4th edition of "Echoes and Voices", a competition put together by Utopian Events and Ondo State Chapter of Nigerian Medical Association, NMA in commemoration of the 2017 Children's day.
The competition whose motive is to encourage students to develop themselves so that they can have a voice and not just echoes and also a great sense of belonging in the society was held at NMA hall, Igbatoro road, Akure.
The theme of the event, which is centered on encouraging youths to develop their potentials alongside their credentials had in attendance four schools within the state.
St Thomas Aquinas College, Greater Heights College, Top Class College, Ondo and St Matthias Anglican High School, participated in the Debate and Dance competition.
At the end of the Debate Competition, St. Matthias Anglican High School, Akure came tops, with St. Thomas Aquinas College, Akure clinching the runner-up position and Top Class College, Ondo placing 3rd.
Each school was presented with an award including the best Female and Male Debaters from Greater Heights and St Aquinas College respectively.
Solo musical performances and poetry rendition were other notable highlights of the event.
