Alleged age falsification: Akure based lawyer urges AGF to investigate Ondo CJ

An Akure-based lawyer, Femi Emmanuel Emodamori has petitioned the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami on the need to investigate allegations of age falsification leveled against the Acting Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Tayo Osoba.

Emodamori has also filed a suit against alleged extension of the tenure of the Chief Judge at the High Court in Akure, the state capital.

At the resumed hearing of the case, counsel to the Acting Chief Judge and the state government, Batife Philip withdrew his appearance for Justice Osoba.

Then Genevieve Okoye announced her appearance for the acting Chief Judge.



The move did not go down well with the plaintiffks counsel, Femi Emmanuel who noted that the memorandum of appearance from Akinlaja's chambers was filed outside the stipulated time.

Emmanuel added that the two memoranda of appearance filed by the duo of Akinlaja and Philip cannot stand side by side.

He said the probe of the allegation was important, in order to get to the root of the matter.



The trial judge, Justice Aderemi Adegoroye adjourned the case to June 16, after ordering the plaintiff's counsel to file an application on the issue of memoranda of appearance.
