The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has restated the commitment of its administration in the state to the provision of dividends of democracy to the people.

The State Director of Media and Publicity of the party, Mr. Steve Otaloro, made the assertion in an interview with The Hope at the weekend.

He noted that there have been massive road repairs and construction across all the three Senatorial Districts in the state that had never been witnessed before for a very long time in the history of the state, stressing that the state's tertiary institutions were not left out in road construction.

Otaloro explained that the intra-road network at the State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) in Okitipupa were fully constructed and electrified along the main gate of the institution.

The spokesperson also noted that the State University of Medical Science, Ondo received similar road construction and other institutions' roads are receiving attention by the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led government.

His words: "The Akeredolu-led government has been dogged, holding the bull by the horn and is ever focused to bring dividends of democracy to the people in spite of all these challenges.

"In fact, the APC-led administration's ultimate goal is to link all the rural areas in the state to the major highways. The administration is constructing all roads in every ward in the state as the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, has mandated all the eighteen caretaker chairmen in the state to construct at least ten kilometres of roads in their local government areas.

"The chairmen have commenced the implementation of this directive in earnest as our party-led government has not even started the major road construction itself that will turn the state into one big octopus of road contraction while the people are already feeling the great relief on our roads"

Otaloro pointed out that within a short time, the present administration took the mantle of power, Governor Akeredolu has reinstated all the lecturers that were unjustly sacked by the last administration at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.

He said that their full benefits up to date were paid just as the administration has been up to date in the payment of workers' salaries and is gradually offsetting salary arrears owed by the previous government.

He added that the APC-led administration in the State is moving at a neck-breaking speed to quickly bring the state to redemption and onto the path of greatness again by resuscitating moribund industries.

According to him, the administration has signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to this effect including  one with a foreign partner on Olokola project and with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to build a 27-kilometer bridge across the sea that will link Ilaje with Lekki in Lagos State.

This massive project, he said when completed will not only be of tremendous commercial benefit to people in the state, but of great benefit to transportation of goods and services to the nation's business and financial hub.
