A member of a six-man robbery gang was shot dead yesterday by soldiers along Ilesha-Akure express way for terrorising motorists.
The gun battle lasted for over 20 minutes before the intervention of the men of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, the Ondo state capital.
According to an eye witness, who spoke with SUNSHINE HERALD on the condition of anonymity, the gangsters have been terrorising and disturbing the motorist riders, thereby putty panics in the lives of the masses.
It was further gathered that the soldiers stationed at Igbara-Oke invaded the robbery scene, following an outcry from the motorists.
Five robbers reportedly sustained injury and made their way into the bush while one of them was shot dead by the soldiers.
