Ondo State chairman of the Ali Modu Sheriff-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Biyi Poroye has commended the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, for setting up a committee to look into the payment of inherited outstanding workers salaries and pensions in the state.

Poroye made the commendation in a statement made available to SUNSHINE HERALD on Monday.

He said: "As a citizen of Ondo State, I wish to commend the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, for setting up a committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Agboola Ajayi, to look into how the payment of inherited outstanding workers salaries and pensioners in the state could be offset without further delay."

Speaking further, the factional PDP chairman said the chapter is in full support of the leadership of the party at the national level led by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and urged those who have defected from the party to retur as era of impunity is over.

"This is to reiterate that the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is in full support of the leadership of the party at the national level led by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff. We are also in support of the reconciliation committee report headed by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State. We align ourselves with the recommendations of the committee which we believe can bring about a lasting peace in our great party if embraced by all progressives.

"We noted with satisfaction the efforts currently being made by distinguished honourable members to restore order and sanity at the Ondo State House of Assembly and we pledge the support of the party for this progressive step. As a matter of fact, the leadership of our party in the State will soon meet with the legislators with a view to fashioning the best way forward.

"Therefore, I want to encourage all the 21 legislators in d Ondo State House of Assembly and 4 legislators in the House of Representatives to be steadfast, committed, loyal and remain in the party, PDP, on whose platform they are elected.

"Without any further ado, I am calling on and admonishing Senator Yele Omogunwa of the Ondo Southern Senatorial District and others leaders who had left the party to return back home since the era of impunity is over.

"Suffice it to add that only the executive of the party led by Prince Poroye Biyi Bill has the authority to issue any press statement on behalf of the party. Any impostor doing so is certainly on his own and operating outside of the party constitution and, of course, in utter disregard to the properly stated position of the judiciary of our country being enjoyed by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman of our great party, PDP," he said.

Poroye further called on the government to quickly look into the provision of water in the State, expressing the fear and future implication of numerous wells and boreholes digging across the state.

He noted that, reticulation of Owena Dam started by late Dr. Olusegun Agagu to cover the Central Senatorial District will be appreciated by the citizenry, if quickly looked into for the benefit of mankind.
