Governor Olusegun Mimiko has advised youths to be proactive, courageous, transparent and fulfilling in order to make a promising national leader.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Aderotimi Adelola made this known during the annual lecture of Dr. Fredrick Fasheun in Akure.
Mimiko noted that youths must be internalized in Nigeria politics in order to enhance national development, stressing that they need to replicate the attitudes, courage, fearlessness, efforts and transparency of leaders that are fulfilling in order to advance the country.
He identified transformational leaders as solution to the country's problem, stating that human capital problem needs to be eradicated in Nigeria, by providing models for those to lead Nigeria in the future.
The Governor, who described Dr. Fredrick Fasheun as a leader worthy of emulation, urged Nigeria youths to live exemplary life that can better their lives, assuring of the government support to development of youths in the state.
Speaking earlier, the Celebrant and Founder of Oodua Peoples' Congress, Dr. Fredrick Fasheun disclosed that there is need for a national conference to assist in understanding and proffering solutions to the country's challenges, stating that there is need for equal ethical representation to resolve Nigeria's problems.
Fasheun who described youths as transformation agents, explained that the success of every nation depends on the youths and they must be given opportunity in the political affairs of the country.
In his view, the Chairman of the occasion who is also the leader of Afenifere Social Group, Chief Reuben Fasoranti described Dr. Fasheun as a vocal and active personality who is ready at all times to ensure the liberty of the people.
