Aiyedatiwa reaffirms commitment to public safety, commissions fire fighting trucks

In a significant move to enhance public safety and emergency preparedness, Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday, commissioned new firefighting trucks.



In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the importance of a well-equipped fire service, describing it as essential to safeguarding communities, businesses, and critical infrastructure.


He pledged continued investment in modern firefighting equipment and personnel training.




"The security and well-being of our people remain paramount to this administration. With the procurement of these fire trucks, we are reinforcing our capacity to respond swiftly to emergencies and mitigate the devastating consequences of fire outbreaks," he stated.

He urged firefighters and emergency responders to make optimal use of the newly acquired equipment, ensuring efficient and professional service delivery.

Also speaking at the event, Engr. Olawoye Ayorinde Abiola, Senior Special Assistant on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, commended the governor's proactive stance on public safety.

He described the acquisition as a testament to the administration's resolve to protect residents.

"These firefighting trucks are not merely vehicles; they symbolise the government's responsibility to its people. Governor Aiyedatiwa has reassured citizens of his unwavering commitment to their safety by providing the necessary resources for effective fire prevention and emergency response," he remarked.




In attendance were; the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, Director of Cooperate Service, NDDC, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, members of Ondo State House of Assembly, Akure South Local Government chairman, Hon. Gbenga Fasua, among others.
