No fewer than 500 people benefitted from a two-day free Medical Outreach organised by the Ondo State House of Assembly lawmaker representing Akure South Constituency 1, Mr. Toluwani Borokini in his Constituency under his Foundation, The Toluwani Borokini Foundation.
Provision of adequate healthcare to the citizenry has been one of the primary duties of a responsive government hence, the lawmaker decided to take the bull by the horn by providing free Medical Outreach for his constituents.
According to the lawmaker who doubles as President of the Foundation, the move was part of continued efforts to bring succour to the down trodden and put smiles on their faces in line with the Redeemed Agenda of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
He maintained that the healthcare intervention was geared towards addressing the medical needs of his people especially the indigent and less privileged persons.
The outreach which had its first phase in Oda town will be taken round the six wards in his constituency.
Beneficiaries thanked the lawmaker for bringing the dividends of democracy to their door steps.
According to them, the intervention was a great relief as they were tested free and given drugs for treatment.
According to one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Oluwadare Florence,many of them were at home and needed medical attention, but had no money, applauding the lawmaker for the kind gesture.
The medical outreach provided beneficiaries with general medical consultation, malaria test and treatment, family Planning and Contraceptives, Blood Pressure Examination and treatment, sugar level test amongst others.
