Leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Ondo State Chapter have stated plans to synergise with the state government to combat crime among youths in the state.
The leadership of the students declared this during their courtesy visit to the Commands Headquarters of Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun).
The Ondo State NANS Chairman, Comrade Oluwaferanmi Omotosho commended the efforts of Ondo State government lead by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN) for his dogged way of advertising insecurity in the state.
He said government's effective ways of flushing out cultism of the Ondo State universities have been wonderful and have brought peace and safety to campuses in the state.
He commended efforts of Mr Governor for creating Amotekun in the state and given core adequate equipment to combat crimes in the society .
In a related development, Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA has honoured the Commander Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye with "Award of Excellence" .
The award presentation was part of the activities marking the 11th Annual Lecture of the School of Environmental Technology, at the Theodore Ibibiye Francis Hall, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
The lecture titled: "Ethics in the Professions: The Challenges of Contemporary Professional Practice was delivered by Victor Adekunle Alonge.
Th university said assumption into office Chief Adeleye as Amotekun boss has lead to great reduction in the cases of kidnapping, banditry, farmer-herder clashes, armed robbery and many other vices in the State.
Responding, Chief Adetunji Adeleye thanked the Governor of Ondo State for providing enabling environment in carrying out his duties as well as the organiser of the award for counting him worthy to be honoured.
He vowed to continue to provide his security expertise in making sure criminals have no hidden place in Ondo State.
" I owe this to the support and cooperation of the good people of Ondo State, especially His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State for the support given to us to perform as an agency.
