As part of activities marking this year's celebration of World Environment Day, a Non Governmental Organization, Kids & Teen Resource Centre ( K& TRC) yesterday, June 5th organized an Ecosystem Restoration programme and Children Funfair at Oda Community.
At the open air event held at Oda Town Hall, no fewer than 150 residents including children joined in the exercise by cleaning up major streets in the area and later partook in tree planting exercise around the community hall.
The K & TRC team led by Ms. Jumoke Abereowo said the programme was conceptualized to commemorate June 5th World Environment Day saying it usually afford the people ~to~ the opportunity to address environmental issues and take steps to bring back green life into the community.

Ms. Jumoke who said K& TRC takes particular interest in equipping the children as they have the capacity to pass on the information not only to their parents but also to their peers, further stressed the significance of green life to a community saying many were able to stay healthy during the COVID 19 pandemic by using herbal extracts from trees.
Other major highlights of the event included training on proper hand washing using the organization CHASE model(Children Hygiene and Sanitation Education) just as the children joined in the tree planting exercise around the city hall.

The K & TRC team also distributed face masks to all participants, gave short talks on the need to plant trees to replenish the environment and as well ~on~ as the use of face mask and on proper hand washing
