ENDSARS: Ondo Panel @OndoSarsPanel Begins Sitting, Receives 30 petitions

Following the protest that erupted few months ago to end the disbanded Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force, the Ondo State Judicial Panel Inquiry on Police Brutality commenced its sitting today. 

The panel also received 30 thirty petitions from members of the public believed to be victims of police brutality and other matters. 

Speaking at the Inaugural sitting in Akure, the state capital, the chairman of the panel, Justice Adesola Sidiq, said the panel would not compromise, noting that that it would stick to its terms of reference. 

He also explained that thirty petitions had been submitted but expressed optimism that in the course of sittings, more petitions would be received to accord everyone equal opportunity to attain justice .
 
 
However, the first case to be heard was adjourned till next week Tuesday. 

While sittings of the Panel had been structured to take place every Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
