The inauguration ceremony held at the International Center For Culture and Event Centre (The DOME), was attended by dignitaries across the country which included the National leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande.
Governors in attendance include; Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Osun state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Governor Akeredolu  in his speech, assured that his administration will not depart from the trodden path which has earned him affection and deep reverence from the citizenry.

While noting that he came on board with the resolve to confront all challenges without leaving any behind, Governor Akeredolu said even though his administration is yet to reach the set goals, he was confident that his administration is on the right path.

But as the Governor begins his second term in office, expectations are high from the people and members of his party.

Expectations.

Payment of Workers Salary.
One issue that is generating reactions lately is the payment of Workers Salary. The payment of half November salary to  workers has attracted scathing criticisms from the organised labour.
This has propelled government doctors to go on strike. For over two weeks, the doctors have shunned their duty posts . The nurses are also threatening to follow suit. The Governor must brace up and look for ways to pay their salaries fully.

Revival of Shuttle buses
The shuttle bus was introduced by the Olusegun Mimiko-led adminstration to convey students to school free of charge. The Akeredolu-led government took this initiative but later stopped after the ravaging pandemic. But till now, the government is not looking into this direction again.

Completion of Oda Road.
The Oda road dualisation project is one of the projects embarked upon by the Akeredolu led the government. Currently,  work is extremely slow at the site. With the raining season fast approaching, the people want the contractor to be well mobilised by the government for timely completion of the project.

Hike in taxi fares
The recent hike in the amount charged by taxi drivers from N50 to N100, undoubtedly, has increased the sufferings of people of the state. Since the union was put in place by the state government, residents are of the opinion, that government has the power to direct the union executives to reverse the increment a situation that will alleviate the sufferings of the people.

Herders' activities

Governor Akeredolu has started a good fight aimed at ensuring that the Fulani herdsmen's activities which included killings, kidnapping, invasion and destruction of farmlands are nipped in the bud.

The Governor should expedite action towards ensuring that the move taken to  curtail the worrisome activities of the killer-herders be pursued till the end for peace to reign in every part of the state.
This would return our farmers to their farms and guarantee food surplus for the citizenry
