The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami have ordered the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Tactical teams to completely take charge of their Area of Responsibilities AORs as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa are sworn in today.
The swearing in ceremony will take place at the international events centre known as the "Dome", along Igbatoro road in Akure.
He said there is no need to entertain any fear about the security of Ondo State during and after the 2nd term inauguration
Salami said in spite of the overblown wrong perception of the security of the state by some people; he is certain that no State in the South-West geo-political zone of the country can boast of the standards of policing and security of the public space as seen in Ondo State.
He said this is made possible by the cooperation and assistance of the good people of Ondo State and the Command's synergy with the Military and other security agencies, including the newly established Amotekun.
He appealed to the good people of State to report immediately any suspicious person or object to the police or any security agency nearer to them.
The police boss said, "the time has come for only right-minded personalities of the State to take the security of their lives and property very serious by cooperating and supporting the Police and all other security agencies in the State.
"For the Police Command, CP Salami said Ondo State Police Command will always remain miles ahead of the plans of these criminals and the extent of their criminality in the State.
He urged every officer assigned for any duty during this period of the celebrations to ensure strict devotion to professionalism and best practices.
