NAOSS partners firm to train 300 students in skill acquisition

The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS, (National body), in partnership with MOTIVAR, a social enterprise startup, has revealed that it is set to launch the much-anticipated capacity development programme with initial 100 participants.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by NAOSS' Global President, Comrade Ayoade Kikiowo on Saturday in Akure.

Kikiowo explained that the programme, with the first phase commencing on Sunday, was focused on assuring and helping young people to access skills for life and professional success.

The scheme was targeted at preparing not less than 3, 000 Ondo state students for the future of work and towards acquiring and monetising hard skills ranging from Forex and Cryptocurrency, Programming, Copywriting and blogging to Graphics design amongst others.

The statement stated that, while leveraging digital tools, the programme was set to kick-start with the first 100 participants, spanning three weeks.

Kikiowo revealed that the programme would be launched virtually via Zoom by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State, Mr Dotun Owanikin, who would deliver the opening address and interface with participants.

"There are eight technical mentors in total, all experts, small business owners who are currently leveraging these skills to earn income.

"They would guide and help participants through their learning process," the statement read in parts.

Kikiowo said participants were selected from across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state for the One-NAOSSITE-One- Skill programme.
