A political group, Pentagon Movement Group (PMG), on Friday, intensified its grassroots mobilization for the re-election bid of Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as it launched an initiative known as "Operation Win Your Unit".

The initiative, according to the State Co-ordinator the group, Mr. Lulu Fawehinmi, is to ensure that Akeredolu wins convincingly across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state without an exception.

The good people of Ondo State shall be electing a new Governor on October 10th 2020.

Akeredolu, the incumbent Governor, is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

At a well-attended road show in Ondo, the headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area (LGA) on Friday, Fawehinmi, flanked by his Co-ordinators in  255 polling units across the 12 wards of the LGA, said his group was confident of victory for Akeredolu.

Fawehinmi, Senior Special Assistant to Akeredolu on Strategic Communications, who addressed a mammoth crowd of commercial motorcyclists and tricylists at St. Patrick Primary School, Yaba, Ondo, on behalf of the Founder of the Group, Mr. Babajide Akeredolu, assured artisans in the local government of a better welfare if the APC is allowed to return to Alagbaka, the seat of power in the Sunshine State.

Paying for fuel at seven petrol stations across the ancient city under a programme called "Kapariwo and Kagbepo Aketi", Fawehinmi promised that the group will not relent on its empowerment initiatives if Akeredolu wins another round of insignia of power.

He said "elections are won at polling units and we want to win everywhere across the State. We want to make a political statement - we want to win the coming election across the 18 LGAs and the only way we can achieve that is to capture all polling units democratically through effective mobilization of the people." Fawehinmi said.

On the "kapariwo and kagbepo Aketi" concept, the PMG leader said "we at PMG really mean business. We are a group of young people, and one of our missions is to fight hunger and poverty among the younger generation.

"Our empowerment schemes are too numerous. We have launched "Kajeun Aketi" where we donated food materials to over 30,000 poorest of the poor across the 18 Local Government Areas of this state.

"Today, we are recognising the transport sector across the state commencing from Ondo West. The mobilization shall be total. We want to win at everywhere including the polling units of opposition candidates and the only way to that is through the support of the people.

"Let me, however, state very clearly that this initiative is not meant to wheedle the people, rather, it is meant to identify with them that we care for them. We did not start now, we have been doing it over a year ago.

"Our Governor has constructed over 500 kilometers of roads across the state to make our roads motorable for our transport workers.

"But we understand there are categories in evey stratum of life hence our reason for the Kagbepo concept. We are starting with the Okada and Keke riders because we understand the indices of development.

"Over 300 commercial motorcyclists and tricylists are to get over 2,000 liters of fuel today through PMG," Fawehinmi stated.

He charged the unit co-ordinators of the group to intensify their efforts in doing more communal engagement and awareness in their respective units.

Aside political mobilization, PMG also engages in scientific research and analysis of the activities and achievements of Political Exposed Persons (PEPs) at the corridor of power across the country with the aim of consolidating good governance.
