The speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly Bamidele Oleyelogun has debunked the invasion of the assembly complex by suspected thugs.
Speaking with newsmen in Akure, Oleyelogun said "the invitation of members of NURTW was intended to have a peace meeting ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state. As you can see, we've spoken with them".
The thugs, it was earlier reported to have converged on the assembly to prevent anti impeachment lawmakers from gaining access to the complex.
Also speaking, the Ondo State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Comrade Jacob Idajo said his men and members are peace loving people, noting that the assembly officially invited them.
