One.of the campaign coordinators of the Peoples Democratic Party for the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, Suffy Uguoji, has predicted a landslide victory for PDP candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede ( SAN).
He said Jegede's growing popularity among the masses and the support of the masses were enough to make him to win without stress.
Uguoji who is the chairman, Coastal Area Mandate said in an interview with our correspondent on Friday that the
victory of Jegede in the election will send Akeredolu and Ajayi into political oblivion, saying electorate in the state were eagerly waiting for the election to end the reign of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of All Progressives Congress.
He said Akeredolu would be sent packing by Jegede in any election tbta is free, fair and credible.
Uguoji stated that although the Deputy Governor , Agboola Ajayi, is from Ondo South Senatorial District, he would be thoroughly disgraced by voters even in his local.gobwrnmenr area.
He said it was the turn of Ondo Central Senatorial District to produce a governor , saying the Central Senatorial District gave Ondo South a massive support when late Dr Olusegun Agagu contested and won.
The PDP leader said, "If a free and fair election is conducted, we are cocksure that Jegede will win nothing less than five of the six local government areas in the South.
" He will also win l the six local government areas in the Central which is his zonee, and four of the six in the North.
"His victory will rubbish the strategy of APC and Zenith Labour Party on whose platform Agboola Ajayi is contesting."
He warned against any attempt to.rig the election. He said the people would resist it.
Uguoji said, "This time around we know that the people of Ondo State will not allow any manipulation by a group of people to announce false results to undermine the popular votes of the people of the state.
"Any attempt by anybody however highly placed will be resisted if he or she tries to rig the forthcoming election. The people of Ondo State will not allow it, no matter the intimidation.Manipulations and intimidation are the characteristics of the present APC controlled Federal Government and these have been proved in all the past elections."
