Health status of Ondo state residents might become worst in the coming days if the government fails to step up its game to combat the spread of coronavirus in the state.
The economy of the state might be on the verge of collapsing as another lockdown looms due to increment in daily recorded cases of Coronavirus in the state.
STEWARDSHIP TV gathered that the health facilities are congested, personnels overwhelmed while treatment and contract tracing has become difficult and its no more effective.
This is as a result of cumulative negative effects of the virus on the Leadership and front line actors.
The state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; UNIMED CMD,Dr Ige; the late commissioner for health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro and host of others are the key players who have fallen victim recently.
To complicate the issue, the deputy governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi who should take up the leadership and supervisory role is indisposed due to his rift with Mr governor.
Investigation reveals that, the state may witness surge of COVID-19 cases in the next coming days if government at all levels fail to take proactive actions to stop community transmission of the virus.
Ondo state has recorded 61 cases of COVID- 19 in two days.
This has brought total cases recorded in the state to 353.
This development has continued to give stakeholders and the entire people in the state serious concern.
