The spike in COVID-19 cases in Ondo state has continued with forty one new cases recorded yesterday, indicating the highest single day infection so far.
This brings to three hundred and ninety four (394), cases of COVID-19 in the state out of which there one hundred and ten (110) recoveries and twenty (20) deaths.
The latest figures are part of the four hundred and fifty four fresh cases recorded in nineteen states as confirmed by the Nigeria centre for disease control NCDC.
This brings to twenty seven thousand, five hundred and sixty four, the total number of infections in Nigeria.
Eleven thousand patients have fully recovered from the disease while death toll has hit six hundred and twenty eight.
The rising cases in ondo state is now giving stakeholders including a governorship aspirant in the APC, Dr Olusegun Abraham and the Emerging Political Platform (EPP) sleepless night in the state.
Abraham and EPP which is a group of executives of 74 deregistered political parties, cautioned that the state government led by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu must do more to rescue the state from the pandemic.
