The ongoing distribution of palliatives to widows across Ondo state under the Ondowidows'care initiative of the wife of the governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has covered the Central Senatorial district of the State with no fewer than 3,000 beneficiaries.

Odigbo Local Government opened the Southern Senatorial district today with over 400 beneficiaries who gathered at the local government headquarters in Ore in an orderly manner to receive the packages.

Speaking with newsmen in separate interviews, the beneficiaries thanked the wife of the governor for remembering them at this point in time, and prayed for her for the grace to achieve her vision for them.

Mrs Rebecca Akintelu said the initiator had really tried for Ondo widows through the programme, saying the governor had also performed creditably well in their local government, therefore affirming their unalloyed support for his administration.

Mrs. Sindikat Okunola said" I am very happy about this programme, I thank Arabinrin for this wonderful gesture and may God be with them".

Also speaking, Mrs Ganiyu Nurat, a widow of five years with four children lamented the challenges confronting her before she could fend for the children. She was so excited to receive the food items and prayed for the progress of Akeredolu-led administration.

Mrs Ganiyu who prayed fervently with Quranic citations for the reelection of governor Akeredolu, enjoined other well-meaning Nigerians to consider widows with their wealth.
The exercise continues tomorrow to Irele local government.
