A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Engr. Ife Oyedele (FNSE), has assured residents of the State to keep hope alive as days of glory will soon return to the Sunshine State.
Oyedele, who described Ondo State as one of the most industrious States with the most intelligent people in the country, said its diminishing glory will return as the touch-bearer and shinning example amongst other States of the Federation when elected Governor of the State.
In his Democracy Day statement through his media aide, Yomi Adebayo, Oyedele said June 12 is more than just a public holiday but a day that symbolises the spirited commitment of Nigerians to the continuous growth and sustainability of democracy in the Country.
"While Nigeria is celebrating Democracy day, Ondo State also holds a significant place in the history of the Nation as the home of progressive politics where the Action Group was launched in the 1950s.
"For us, we will ensure we take decisions that will position Ondo State at its rightful place as the leading light in development and progressivism," Oyedele said.
He assured that there will be an unprecedented positive turnaround in the socio-economic landscape of the State.
The aspirant who said Ondo State people have shown tremendous commitment to the development of the State, posited that the rich cultural heritage of the State, and the labour, commitment and unflinching dedication to the development of the State which was passed on to this generation by the founding Fathers must not be allowed to fall into disrepute.
Oyedele stated that "We are blessed with, arguably, the best human capital resources any Nation can have, waiting to take over the world but the government must at all times provide the enabling environment for people to thrive"
He commended the people of Ondo State for their perseverance and sacrifice in the face of the present reality of socio-economic hardship and assured them of " a future fair to all"
The governship hopeful promised that the welfare of the people will be at the forefront of his government when elected as the next Governor of Ondo State.
