No fewer than 150 families residing at Idowu Otetubi lane, Osisi Quarters in Omolayo Estate, Okejebu, Akure and other adjoining streets today received door-to- door palliative from ace politician and chairman of the Osisi/Omolayo Landlords/Residents Association, Hon. Idowu Otetubi
The distribution of the palliative which started as early as 7am targeted identified 150 families was conducted in an orderly manner to meet the prescribed social distance rules in the fight to combat community spread of corona virus.
Speaking on the essence of the initiative, Hon. Otetubi said he decided to distribute palliatives to residents of his community to help them beat the harsh economic realities occasioned by the lockdown.
Hon. Otetubi reaching out to one of the beneficiaries during the house-to house distributionAccording to him, the outbreak of COVID-19 came as an emergency and as such, individuals must not wait on the government but most do whatever they can to contribute their own little quota by reaching out to others.
While also urging other well meaning individuals to take up the challenge and reach out to those in their immediate communities, Hon. Otetubi said such gesture of love have far reaching effect and also represents God's command.
Reacting, some of the residents of the area applauded Hon. Otetubi for singlehandedly coming up with the initiative saying it will go a long way in bringing succour to them.
Items distributed include congos of Rice and Beans.
