Pioneer Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Chief Isaacs Kekemeke has called for truce among splinter groups in the party and unite ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.

He made the call at the weekend at a dinner fielding questions from newsmen in Akure, the state capital, after declaring his interest in the gubernatorial ticket of the party.

He charged all splinter groups, including those in support of the incumbent governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to sheath their swords and avoid statements that could balkanize the party.

Kekemeke appealed to all members of the party to wait for the recommendations of the committee put in place on February 1, 2020 to look into the crisis and fashion out solutions to it.

Explaining what informed his ambition, Kekemeke, who had been in politics in the state for over 30 years, said there's need to change the narrative of governance.

He said government is about providing enabling environment for the people to executive their socio-economic and political visions as well as impacting on the lives of the citizenry.

The former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice disclosed that he had began consultations since February 12, 2019 and had visited all the 18 local government areas of the state, holding several meetings with stakeholders.
