‘Akeredolu’s rep’ causes stir at house of rep, introduces self as R-APC member

Dr Bode Ayorinde, the member representing Owo/Ose federal constituency in the house of representatives caused a stir at plenary on Wednesday, when he introduced himself as a member of the Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC, a faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ayorinde's who had stood to contribute was however shouted down by members of the APC.

The aggrieved members noted that the group was not officially recognised as a political party in Nigeria.

Even after interruption, Ayorinde said "I'm a proud member of the R-APC.

Mohammed Bago, an APC lawmaker from Niger state who led the protest however told him the group does not exist as a political party.

Ayorinde, the proprietor of Achievers University, Owo represents Governor Rotimi Akeredolu's constituency.
