ONDO APC GUBER PRIMARY : SUPREME COURT RULING WILL STRENGTHEN RULE OF LAW, SAYS OLOWOLABI

Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi has described the Supreme Court ruling of March 23,2018 in a case filed by Mr.Segun Abraham over the declaration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as the winner of the September 3,2016 APC Governorship Primary held in Akure, as a welcome development in any democratic system of government,adding that it would stregthen the Rule of Law. 

Olowolabi while speaking on Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure, personality programme tagged Guest of the Week, noted that the Governor,Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN,as a senior lawyer in the country went to court to challenge the process which he was served court papers, saying the paper was taken to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, while the Governor resides in Ondo State.

He added that the Governor felt he was not properly served and thus went to Court to challenge the process and the Court has therefore affirmed that he was properly served and ordered that the case should commence.

The Information Commissioner stressed that the National Working Committee of the APC affirmed that the September 3, 2016 guber primary that produced Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN was free and credible,adding that the transparency recorded in the primary made the people of the state to vote for Akeredolu overwhelmingly in the November 25,2016 governorship election in the state. 

Mr.Olowolabi said Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu remains the Governor of Ondo State,observing that the people of the state elected him to serve them for the next four years and the mandate given to him by the people of the state would not be misused by the Governor.

He urged residents of the state to remain calm and go about their normal businesses, as the Governor is determined to leave  the state better than he met  it.

He urged the people to continue to support the government in making the state a cynosure of all eyes.
