Deputy Governor Denies Senate Ambition in Ondo

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Alfred Agboola Ajayi has denounced the rumour making around that he was interested in contesting for the Southern Senatorial District in the 2019 General Elections, describing such insinuation as unfounded, mischievous and should be disregarded. 

Ajayi made the declaration on Saturday 27th January, 2018, at the Southern District  meeting of the All Progressive Congress, APC, held at the Ronke Tola Hotel, Ore. The meeting which was well attended by the majority of political office holders, past leaders and politicians of note from the six Local Government Areas of the Southern District namely; Ese-Odo, Ilaje, Irele, Okitipupa, Odigbo and IlĂ© -Oluji discussed vital issues affecting the progress of the party.  
After many speakers have taken their turns to contribute to the agenda of the meeting and it was the turn of the Deputy Governor to talk, he took the microphone and said: 
"Let me use the opportunity of this gathering to declare that I'm happy with my boss, our leader, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN. I'm still very happy with my job as the Ondo State Deputy Governor.  
"Let me say here without any equivocation and sincerity of my heart that I'm not  interested in the 2019 Ondo South Senatorial Seat. Count me out  ! ", Ajayi declared. 
The Deputy Governor went further briefed the meeting about the achievements of the Akeredolu led Administration in the State and listed the following projects that will be commissioned or flagged off to mark the First Anniversary of the APC Government in Ondo State :

  For Commissioning 

1. Ajagba -Sabomi Road.

2. Ore Township Road.

3.Osustech Internal Road Network.

4. Igbekebo General Hospital.

5.Ayeka-Irele Road.

6.Reticulations of Aboto Water Project. 
For Flag Off 

1.Flag-off1-Ore fly Ore.

2. Okitipupa By-pass road

3-Araromi -Akodo-Lekki Road.
Ajayi added that,  in spite of the huge debt and seven months unpaid salaries inherited by the APC Government, the Akeredolu's Administration has been able to pull through, clearing four months arrears of workers' salaries and paying up to date. 
Chief Olusola Oke on his part commended the timing of the meeting saying regular meeting at the district level would help spread information about the  activities of the State Government to the grassroots.

Oke said if the immediate past Administration in Ondo State has given attention to the Southern part of the State the way Akeredolu is currently doing he wouldn't bordered to contest the Governorship Election.
