The Ondo State Chapter of the Advance Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) has concluded plans to bring women across the state together in a conference slated for Akure,the state capital.
Speaking at a Press conference in Akure on Tuesday, the State interim Secretary of the party,Mrs. Titilayo Ashaolu said over one thousand women are expected at the conference.
She said the conference is being put together to celebrate women in the state , saying the role of women in the society cannot be over emphasized.
Ashaolu noted that the rulling APC government in the state has neglected the entire women and that the APDA recognized the importance of women.
"We are bringing every women in the state together in Akure for the conference in the next couple of weeks. Women are very critical in the development of our society and we as a party want to identify with them.
"The conference will be at our party Secretariat and over 1,000 women have signified intention to attend," Ashaolu said.
She reiterated the commitment of women in the party to the call for the devolution of power and restructuring.
Giving his remark, the state chairman of the party,Mr Gbenga Akinkuowo said the APDA is the party to beat in the state.
Akinkuowo said the acceptance of the party across the state by all stakeholders and at the grassroot is an indication that the people are ready for the positive change.
He charged every member of the party to continue preaching the gospel to all and sundry about the movement of the party.
