The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele David Oleyelogun has called on Muslims in the state to be steadfast in their religion as fasting progresses during this year's Ramadan season.
He urged them to use the period to also pray for the state and the country as the economic recession continues to bite harder.
Oleyelogun made this assertion in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Ojoawo Abidemi Joshua which was made available to The Hope yesterday in Akure, the state capital.
He also advised Nigerians on the need to exercise patience on the present economic recession affecting the country and the world in general, noting that patience will help democracy to grow and engender progress and stability of the state and the country at large.
He called on political leaders at all levels to intensify efforts towards making democracy a delight of all people while congratulating the people of Ondo State, on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu's leadership which he described as God sent and will take the state to an enviable height.
He expressed the determination of the present lawmakers in the state Assembly to cooperate with the executive to move the state forward.
Oleyelogun urged Nigerians to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari's quick recovery as well as the unity and progress of the country .
