Facts have continued to emerge on how Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke singlehandedly ran the affairs of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo State.
According to numerous sources who appeared as witnesses before the fact finding panel set up by the State Working Committee of the party after the vote of no confidence passed on the chairman, it was revealed that he did not carry along members of the executive along in the running of the party.
While giving his testimony, the Secretary of the party in the state, Rahman Rotimi confirmed that the party executive had not met since September 2016.
While answering questions from members of the panel, the party secretary also confirmed that Kekemeke also rebuffed all peace moves made by everyone including himself and the state governor (then governorship candidate) Rotimi Akeredolu to ensure the party's victory at the November election.
In his own testimony, the Organising Secretary, Raphael Adetimehin confirmed that he never played his constitutional role throughout Kekemeke's tenure.
He said: "As far as I am concerned, as the state organising secretary of the party, there was never a day that Hon. D. I. Kekemeke has ever assigned me to any of the party's activities, he did it all alone. And as I complained to him, he always said that he is the Chief Security Officer of the party, he is the Chief Executive Officer of the party, and I have no right to question his authority.
He further stated that the only assignment he was ever given in the party was the governorship election campaign flag off rally where he served in 2 committees in the local organising committee.
He also confirmed that even though he was the Organising Secretary, he played no role in the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and governorship primaries of the party.
Other testimonies were also given by the party's Financial Secretary, Dcn. Moshood Ishola and State Youth Leader, Olutayo Babalayo.
The youth leader also submitted a petition against Kekemeke before the panel.
Part of the allegations levelled against the suspended chairman were: refusal to pay him money paid to other party delegates who attended the party's 2015 presidential election primary in Lagos, sidelining of the executive of the party in carrying out the activities of the party, financial transactions carried out by Kekemeke were shrouded in secrecy, using members of his legal chambers to perform functions of the state working committee among others.
While speaking with journalists, chairman of the facts finding panel and Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya noted that the suspended chairman has refused all invitations sent to him to defend himself before the panel.
According to him, members of Kekemeke's chamber assaulted the party's clerk who sent to deliver the invitation notice to him, while another attempt to deliver it through DHL also met a brick wall.
Adesanya confirmed that having given the suspended chairman fair hearing which he rejected, the panel will have no option but to base their recommendations on the testimonies given before them.
