‘My administration will not influence NAOSS election’

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has disclosed that his government will not influence the election of the National Association of Ondo State Students  (NAOSS) that will hold in May 13 this year.

The Governor further assured of the support of his administration to ensure a level playing ground for every candidate that will take part in the election.

He stated this while playing host to the national and principal officers of the association at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Akure

Akeredolu, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, assured the support of the government of provide a level playing ground for everyone in the election, affirming that the government will not involve itself in compromising the election.

While responding to the demands of the members of the association, the governor assured them that it will look into the outstanding bursary and scholarship the immediate past government owed the members of the association.

He assured the association of his government consideration to look into the appointment of one of them in his government

Akeredolu ,who also responded to the requests of the association on the need for his government to create more vocational centres said if more vocational centres and information and communication centres were established, it will reduce unemployment among the teeming youths.

He enjoined them to inculcate the habit of maintaining peace, saying that peace cannot be achieved where there is rancour.

Earlier, the National President of NAOSS, Comrade Adeolu Iwakun, congratulated the governor and his deputy for their victory in the governorship election while lauding the commitment of the governor to good governance.

He also commended Akeredolu-led administration's passion for education, following a lot of achievements recorded at the State University of Science and Technology(OSUSTECH), Okitipupa in terms of road construction since the present administration assumed office.

He appreciated the government for the prompt payment of salaries and the reinstatement of the sacked workers of Adekunle Ajasin University,Akungba -Akoko in the state.

According to him, now that new and good governance is being experienced in the state, government needs to do more in taking the state to a greater height.
