A political group ad advocacy group within Akoko South East Local Government, Vanguard For Good Governance, VGG, has written a letter to the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu warning him against appointing a politician from the area, Prince Solagbade Amodeni as Commissioner, a letter seen exclusively by SUNSHINE HERALD has shown.
The letter which was signed by the Coordinator of the group, Comrade Femi Koseunti referred Mr. Akeredolu to the past antecedents and the notorious political activities of Mr. Amodeni in the State.
SUNSHINE HERALD had on May 21st in a feature report on those considered for slots in Akeredolu's cabinet named Mr. Amodeni and others.
The report also said the Governor was considering picking Mr. Amodeni who he is said to admire for his doggedness to head the Natural Resources Ministry which he held during the first term of the past administration.
But VGG in his letter to the Governor attached a petition purportedly written and dated 14th November, 2002 by Amodeni, against his tribes man, the then Governor of Ondo State, Late Chief Adebayo Adefarati.
The group assured Mr. Akeredolu that reading of Mr. Amodeni letter to Late Adefarati will to an extent attest to the nature and characteristic of him as an "egoistic, overbearing, selfish, rude and desperate person who can fan ember of disunity within the cabinet if appointed.
They warned the Governor not to appoint Amodeni to any political office as the only lasting solution to control the excess of Amodeni debilitating prowess.
The letter reads: "Sir, your excellency, for these same history not to repeat itself because Amodeni's trade in stock is to create disunity which has been his recurrent decimal in his life as betrayed both his mentor and benefactor, Adefarati and also betrayed Gov. Olusegun Mimiko his age long friend."
